Internships with the Wichita YMCA--Description: The YMCA Internship Program is designed to provide interns with opportunities to put theory into practice. An internship provides an opportunity to assess, develop and enhance many of the key competencies needed in the professional workplace. By combining academic preparation with the resources of the Greater Wichita YMCA, it is possible to provide a desired blend of theory and practice through interaction with staff, members and volunteers of the YMCA. It is through the provision of fieldwork experiences that an intern is given maximum opportunities to apply theoretical concept to practical situations.
