BACHELOR OF ARTS (and B.G.S.)
HUMAN BIOLOGY
Note: All students are to see a Human Biology advisor at least once a year. Requirements apply to students entering Fall 1997 and later. At least 124 hrs. (40 Junior/Senior hrs.) must be completed for graduation. At least 84 hrs. must be non-BIOL courses. Double majors must complete at least 15 hrs. unique to each major. The Human Biology CORE CURRICULUM and accompanying RECOMMENDED ELECTIVE COURSES are listed below. To complete the program, you must: a) Choose one course from each of the five areas of the CORE CORRICULUM (5 courses); b) Choose additional courses from either the CORE or the ELECTIVES to complete at least 24 hr. of credit. Your course choices must include two LABORATORY COURSES (or one course + Course 449 Laboratory/Field Work in Human Biology, cross-listed in several departments); c) Complete a HUMAN BIOLOGY SEMINAR (1 hr) during your senior year. [*For students who must complete 1 year (10 hrs) of organic chemistry (for professional or graduate school), or for students who are double majors, the minimum program requirements may be reduced to 22 hrs by a one-course reduction in the ELECTIVE COURSES. This option will no longer be available for majors declared on or after Fall 2000. See an advisor for further information.]
